#PowerOfMakeup NikkieTutorials Palette
Most of you probably know me for my music. From this experience, I was exposed to so many different aspects of the industry, such as journalism, beauty, fashion and social media. Getting a job as a Beauty / Lifestyle Editor and Interviewer at CelebSecrets seemed like the perfect opportunity to extend my work and express my own experiences with fashion and beauty. It is something I am now passionate about; expressing myself through my various hair and makeup looks was once part of my identity as a recording artists. Music is always and will always be a huge part of my life, but I am now open to a whole new world of opportunities.
I was recently introduced to the fabulous #ThePowerOfMakeup palette by Nikkie Tutorials in collaboration with Too Faced. I rarely talk about beauty products on my website but this is one was really special, my friend Andrew Toma and I have recorded a YouTube video reviewing it.
I am not going to lie, not ALL eye colors are the most wearable. The neutrals are great and work with fair to medium skin tones, however, the gold, silver blue and purple shades will take a little bit more effort and imagination to work with your outfit and the rest of your makeup. They are still beautifully pigmented powders and worth a try. The shade ‘Ivy’ (white) is the perfect base and brow bone highlight. It evens out the eyelid like nothing else and turns the entire area into a blank canvas, ready to be painted on.
We get two options for blusher, but the only bronzer option ‘chocolate soleil’ is a little too fair for most skin tones, especially for that heavier contoured look. ‘Champagne Truffle’ has to be one of the most beautiful highlighters I have tried, comparable to the Anastasia texture and glow.
The best part: it comes with extra goodies, such as an eye primer, a PURPLE mascara (yay!), eye glitter and a black felt tip liner. Overall, one of the most exciting releases this year. The packaging is cute, and the concept is attractive.
One massive downside: it is a versatile face palette, however, a little mirror would have been nice. The palette has so much going on for the face and can’t be used as an ‘on the go’ essential!
